2. Hunter Lovins – Integrating Ecology and Real Estate « Our Green Maui | May 19, 2009 at 5:29 pm
If you missed it, Hunter Lovins visited Maui during “Focus Green” on January 29th, 09 – to discuss ecology and real estate. Hunter is a “natural capitalist” who believes that integrating green technology into development – in regards to climate – will help the Earth become more sustainable. As she always does, she spoke from the heart and mind about climate change in relation to innovative and ecological engineering.
In the video, you’ll see her speak about the “Integrated Design Process” – when design and architecture teams work together throghout the design process. This process guided the development of the NMB bank in the Netherlands, a building that uses 92% less energy, saves $2.9 million and increased productivity 15% through green development. The results speak for themselves, optimal real estate is run by sustainability.
