BALDWIN BEACH—Sunday, April 19
Message from Bruce Douglas, Maui Earth Day Festival Director

Aloha dear members of our beloved community

As you may have heard, this years Earth Day Festival has hit a bump in the road. Our permit has been declined. Without a permit, any amplified music, merchant exchange (monetary transactions), or distribution of literature will be an unlawful act. For this reason we are choosing to re-frame Earth Day at Baldwin Beach as an observation and not a festival. For those who would like to gather, a contingent of acoustic musicians and speakers will be present. Later that evening the Studio Maui will be hosting an Earth Day dance party with food concessions and community organizations.

All volunteer positions are suspended until further notice. We would like to thank those of you who have already risen to the call and valiantly offered your services. It is people like you who define the character of our community. Our apologies to any who have been inconvenienced by this turn of events. We hope to see you at either Baldwin Beach, the Studio Maui, or at another juncture in our adventures on this beautiful island.
