Layers and broilers require little yard space, provide high quality fresh food, can cut your import food miles, and are a fun educational tool for children. This free workshop aims to help beginners interested in raising a flock. Participants
will learn about:
- animal nutrition
- grazing management
- flock health
- poultry breeds
- what sets pastured eggs and meat apart, and more.
Includes constructing an example PVC poultry grazing cage. Space is limited to 20, and pre-registration is required on a first come first serve basis. Call Matt Stevenson (Kauai County CTAHR) at 808-274-3472 to register.
